Two different scholarship options are available for applicants in this category.

Applying for and awarding of both scholarships occurs only in the spring for the next academic year (defined as summer through spring terms).

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
The SCF-Three-Rivers School Scholarship

This scholarship option awards up to a maximum of $1,500 per recipient in the first year. The scholarship is annually renewable up to the completion of a bachelor’s degree with the possibility of incremental annual increases.

An applicant for this scholarship MUST BE a graduate of the Three-Rivers School in the Sunriver Business Park, and spent a minimum of three years at Three Rivers School.

Any applicant who meets the Three Rivers requirement can be either:

A high school senior who will be graduating from a Bend-LaPine School District high school in the spring when applying for this scholarship, and is planning to attend an accredited college/university or accredited trade/technical school.
— OR–
Already a high school graduate from a Bend-LaPine District high school and is either (1) applying for college admission for the upcoming academic year, or (2) is already attending an accredited college/university or an accredited trade/technical school

Other Criteria

  • Professed religious faith or church attendance is not required.
  • The applicant is to have a 2.5 grade point average in their senior year of high school.
  • The same grade point average is required of those first-time applicants who are already attending a higher education school.
  • An applicant will be or is enrolled full-time in a specific vocational or degree program (regardless of the program’s length).
  • If a scholarship recipient wishes to annually reapply, he/she must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average throughout their particular higher education program.
  • Each applicant will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the need and/or academic merit.

ADULT SCHOLARSHIP
The Dora R-Good Scholarship

Many adults have realized that a move into new vocational fields will require advanced training, certification, or a college degree they currently do not have. The following scholarship is designated for this type of applicant. Because of additional responsibilities, this person may be dealing with (e.g. family responsibilities, single parent, current job, etc.), the required criteria for an applicant is more flexible.

The Dora R-Good Neighbor Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any adult living in South Deschutes County with a 97707 or 97739 resident zip code or is a graduate of Three Rivers School and lives elsewhere in Deschutes County. The amount of available scholarship funds is up to $1,800 for an entire academic year (defined as summer through the following spring terms), or a proportionate amount for a part of that academic year.

Applying for this scholarship occurs two times during the year – spring and fall. The applicant must be planning to attend or is already attending any nationally accredited, college/university, or accredited trade/technical school.

Other Criteria

  • Professed religious faith or church attendance is not required.
  • The applicant is already accepted in or is already participating in a specific vocational training program or pursuing an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree.
  • The applicant can be either a part-time (minimum 6 credit hours) or full-time student. If part-time, the scholarship amount will be proportionate to the number of hours taken.
  • If applying for only a part of an academic year, the scholarship amount will be proportionate to the number of terms left in the current academic year (defined as summer through spring terms.)
  • Each applicant will be dealt with on a case-by-case and need basis in accordance with the need and/or academic merit.
