SCF VOLUNTEER FAIR

April 15, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

SCF VOLUNTEER FAIR: APRIL 15, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” As an SCF Member, please mark your calendar for this event now! We will communicate more details about how you can participate and help make this a successful event!
Who: An open invitation to the public throughout South Deschutes County to come and enjoy refreshments, see the new SCF building, and sign up to volunteer with one or more of the presenters.
What: An event in the new Sanctuary to support all of the local non-profit organizations our congregation supports via funding and volunteering. Each organization will be invited to set up and “man” a table to provide information and sign-up volunteers. There is a wide range of non-profits where SCF volunteers make a difference. The lengthy list includes such diverse organizations as La Pine Sunriver Habitat for Humanity, Healing Reins, United Way, LT Rangers, CASA, Bend La Pine School District, Rotary, Sunriver Women’s Club, Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory including the Second Tern, Care and Share, Woodchuckers, and the Sunriver Library, as well as local music and theater organizations.
When: Saturday, April 15, 1–3 p.m. (The Saturday after Easter.)
Why: To support our local missions by signing up volunteers, to introduce our building, to encourage attendance and participation in SCF activities and services.
Committee: Mark and Cindy McConnell, Barb Purcell and Gordon Werkema

Current Groups signed up to participate include:
CASA of Central Oregon, Healing Reins, Mountain Star La Pine, Habitat for Humanity La Pine Sunriver, Council on Aging, Alzheimer’s Association, Saving Grace, La Pine Kitchen, Central Oregon Trail Association, Cans & Bottles for Care & Share Foodbank, Sunriver Music Festival, SMART Readers Three Rivers School, Care and Share Community Outreach, LT Rangers (Sunriver litter patrol), Second Tern Thrift Store, Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory, The Bells of Sunriver, Wood Chuckers (Firewood Sales and Donations), and Deschutes Land Trust.

Most of these organizations already benefit from the financial and volunteer support of our congregation, but they can always use more help
