Fiber, Fabric and Story through March 2026

Weaving a tale. Spinning a yarn. Embroidering the truth. The language of storytelling is firmly intertwined with fiber, fabric and other textiles. Sunriver’s Nancy McGrath Green Gallery’s first fiber arts exhibit features twelve artists who recognize that relationship.

Fiber, Fabric and Story opens January 11 and runs through March. The exhibit highlights the ways artists are using fabric, mixed media and other textiles in their art. It invites them to share the stories behind their work – their inspiration and process.

“These artists are using fabric, fiber or other textiles in surprising ways,” says Liz Haberman, gallery director. “Sunriver is already home to a wonderful quilt show. This is something different.”

The exhibit includes embroidering, weaving, quilting, crocheting, felting, dyeing, printing – even artificial intelligence and yarn storming. Materials range from reclaimed linens, lingerie and knitwear to tree branches, photographs, Covid masks and rusty tools.

Exhibiting artists include Helen Brisson, Sharon Carvalho, Susan Kenney, Judy Hoiness, Wendy and Lyle Morgan, Dee Ford Potter, Leotie Richards, Rebecca Sentgeorge, Nanci Tangeman, Shannon Weber and Lynn Woll.
