Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA

For those over the age of 70-1/2 (ie, of RMD age), you can use qualified charitable distribution (QCDs) to lower your individual retirement account (IRA) balance and future RMDs, without any tax consequences on the withdrawals.
 
Most financial and brokerage institutions have request forms for such donation instructions, or you could use the one below.
