SPECIAL EVENT: St John’s Bible Class – Sanctuary

July 20, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

On Saturday, July 20, 11:00 a.m.  Roy Green and Katie Keller will be offering a class in the Sanctuary with the St. John’s Bible presenter for folks to hear the full story of the Bible project.

On Sunday, July 21, there will be a special service with the St. John’s Bible. Then after the service, there will be an Open House in the Sanctuary, at approximately 11:30 AM

The first handwritten and hand-illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years, was envisioned in 1998 and now its story and place in history will be told in Sunriver in July.  Brad Neary, Director of the Heritage Edition Program at St John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota, will give a presentation on The Saint John’s Bible at Sunriver Christian Fellowship, 18139 Cottonwood Rd, on Saturday, 20th July, at 11:00 AM, and again on Sunday, 21st, an Open House after the 10:00 AM service, at approximately 11:30 AM.
There is no charge for this presentation and no tickets are required.

One of seven Heritage Edition volumes of The Saint John’s Bible, The Gospels, and Acts, will be on display at both presentations.  Mr. Neary will share both the history of the original manuscript and several of the work’s most iconic illuminations. We welcome all who are interested in Bibles, calligraphy, and fine art to this rare opportunity for Central Oregon.
