Saint John’s Bible Open House following today’s service.
July 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Saint John’s Bible Open House immediately following today’s service until 1:30 pm.
The first handwritten and hand-illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years, was envisioned in 1998 and now its story and place in history will be told in Sunriver in July.
Brad Neary, Director of the Heritage Edition Program at St John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota, will give a presentation on The Saint John’s Bible at Sunriver Christian Fellowship, 18139 Cottonwood Rd, on Saturday, the 20th, at 11 AM, on Sunday, the 21st, an Open House after the 10 AM service, approximately 11:30 AM.
There is no charge for this presentation and no tickets are required.
One of seven Heritage Edition volumes of The Saint John’s Bible, The Gospels, and Acts, will be on display at both presentations. Mr. Neary will share both the history of the original manuscript and several of the work’s most iconic illuminations. We welcome all who are interested in Bibles, calligraphy, and fine art to this rare opportunity for Central Oregon.
